Abstract
Vectorization in three dimensional space is an important issue not only in geomodelling but also in image processing. In this paper, we present an approach for an automated extraction of boundaries of polyhedral objects composed of homogeneous voxels. Our approach provides a method to retrieve both geometric and topologic features of the objects. Topologic features of the objects are described by a half edge-based model. Geometric features of objects are described by a matrix-based model. The extraction algorithm is based on voxel-row scanning, where common voxels are replaced by intervoxels.
