Abstract
Stochastic methods for stochastic modeling are currently used in order to account for the spatial distribution of categorical or continuous variables such as facies, porosity. Such simulations must honor at best hard data that can be observed over the domain (along the well-paths for example), and variograms specifying the spatial variability inferred by observed available data. In fact, classical stochastic methods use only one variogram to define the “style” of the distribution over the domain. The approach presented in this paper takes into account one variogram per facies, and allows integration of a large range of geological constraints such as proportion maps and curves, trends, seismic related soft data, and transition probabilities.
