Abstract
"Curvilinear stratigraphie grids are important in Reservoir Geology and Engineering where anisotropy plays a role in hydrocarbon migration and accumulation" (see overview on stratigraphie grids in [3]). The goal of our work is to create models as close as possible to what we can observe in reservoirs. Once a stratigraphie geornetry is generated, we can perform geostatistical simulations or compute and interpolate properties. The starting point of this work is an algorithm developed by C. Bennis [1][2] and patented by Institut Français du Pétrole (IFP). Basically, this algorithrn is filling space regions bounded by a maximum of six triangulated surfaces. It can also handle degenerated cases when we have less than six surfaces bounding our region (in case of pinchouts for example). The mesh generated is proportional in ail its directions.
