Abstract
In complex area, the construction of geological horizons as triangulated surfaces requires usually
additional information to the initial data set. Such information include:
(1) the existence of structural axis (at the top of the anticline or at the bottom of the syncline).
(2) the fact to honor a given dip
(3) the fact to be at a given distance to an horizon.
(4) the fact to honor a known geological map at the intersection between the 3D models and a
topography given by a DEM.
(5) the fact to be unfoldable
(6) the fact to end in a coherent cumulative strain field
We have developed new constrains in Gocad to facilitate the building of surfaces following these
roles.
