The KivMOGs plugin in Gocad for facilitating geostatistical analysis and modeling with user-friendly tools.

 abstract = { Geostatistics belongs to the set of modeling tools of most geologists and engineers in the petroleum, mining and environmental fields. The variety of geostatistical methods is wide and there is no major geological modeling software that does not offer geostatistical solutions. Nevertheless, geostatistics keeps making a number of potential practitioners unconfident. As a consequence, geostatistics is often not used or not properly used when it could or should be. More than a question of knowledge, the reason can be found in the application of geostatistics itself, which requires that various methodological decisions be taken at the different steps of a geostatistical approach, thus making it subjective for many. As an attempt to facilitate the application of geostatistics, KivMOGs has been designed as a plugin in Gocad to provide “expert” yet self-consistent and user-friendly tools and workflows. },
