Abstract
A 3D model is a partition of the 3D space into closed volumes called regions. The condition of non-intersection introduced by Requicha in [Req80] for a consistent model building imposes that the volumes must intersect at their boundaries. Faces must intersect at their borders and intersection points must be distinct. The cut tool enables the surfaces to fulfill this condition. But editing the geometry and the topology of such a model is not trivial. In this paper, we will propose an alternative to cutting the surfaces before building a model by introducing the concept of Trimmed-TSurf. This new type of surfaces buffers all its relations with the other surfaces constituting the model, such as the intersection lines and points. 3D models referred Soft-Model are build by gluing Trimmed-TSurfs together.
