Interactive Manipulations of Geological models through Cross Sections.

Abstract
Interactive manipulation tools are widely used in many computer-aided applications. We focus
on two specific tools to modify 3D geoscientific models. The first one is dedicated to the interactive
editing of micro-layers in a reservoir. This new tool allows the user to drag under constraints the trace
of micro-horizons on a special-purpose cross-section. The second part presents a new paradigm for
interactive sealed model updating. This new methodology, based on a local parameterization coupled
with Delaunay constrained triangulation, and on the use of the DSI algorithm, allows the user to
interactively displace consistently a horizon along a fault in a 3D model while keeping a perfect
contact between the two objects.
